Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) provides supplemental foods, nutrition and health education plus health and human services referrals to low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, postpartum women, infants and children up to 5 years of age who are at nutritional risk. Health and dietary information provided by a doctor, nurse, nutritionist, dietitian, or clinic / health care provider is used to determine nutritional risk.

In Suffolk County, WIC offices are located at health centers and satellite centers operated by the Suffolk County Department of Health Services. Call one of the WIC sites listed on the back of this paper for more information and to make an appointment.
